Mürren

Mürren

Mürren lies at 1650 m and is regarded as the highest, permanently inhabited village in the Canton of Berne. It is situated on a sunny terrace high above the Lauterbrunnen valley and offers views of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

Skiers and snowboarders can amuse themselves on the well-groomed slopes and guaranteed snow in the Mürren – Schilthorn ski resort. Non-skiers, on the other hand, can explore the area on well-prepared winter footpaths, or can swerve around on the ice at the open-air ice-rink, or even have a go at a curling tournament.

In summer, well-signed footpaths lead past numerous waterfalls and other interesting sites. An attractive via ferrata between Mürren and Gimmelwald is new this summer. Everyone will be fascinated by the breath-taking views down, as well as the 80 metre-long Nepalese bridge. Back in the village one can relax in the indoor pool or the sauna of the Alpine Sports Centre, or enjoy the peace and quiet, as well as the evening setting from one of the sun terraces.
